Organic Table Beer with Pineapple Weed, 3.2% (12 x 330ml cans)
We last made this foraged favourite back in the summer of 2022.
Organic whole grains and whole leaf hops as always but this time with foraged Pineapple Weed.
The Pineapple Weed was picked fresh and added straight after the boil with the third addition of organic hops. The beer is fresh and light. And the pineapple weed is subtle but fragrant and just the right side of sharp and tangy.
ABOUT PINEAPPLE WEED:
Pineapple weed is a relation of chamomile, but has a far fresher, juicier aroma, which is very similar to pineapple jelly sweets when you press the buds between your fingertips.
The plants appear in scrubby bits of ground, at the side of paths, driveways and pavements, thriving in the poorest conditions and most unlikely spots. The word 'weed' suggests something unwanted and unloved - perhaps it was named by gardeners who like everything a bit neater than we do? But this summer herb is one that we love above all others. Its modest appearance belying its underlying flamboyance!
