Spots on my Apples Festival
Founded in 2022, Spots on my Apples is an annual celebration of all things organic.
A day of talks and workshops with leading thinkers and inspirational voices. Farm and garden tours with brilliant growers. Outdoor cooking. Tastings, demos. Brilliant food. Organic beers, natural wines. Live music and records.
Coming together with purpose
Spots on my Apples gives us an opportunity each year to bring people together with purpose, to think about how we do more to protect nature and biodiversity and to fight the apathy and indifference of the chemical status quo.
It’s also a great chance to celebrate the amazing work already done in this country by so many organic growers, farmers, producers, chefs, activists and writers.
Nature at the heart
The festival’s name is a tribute to the Joni Mitchell protest song, Big Yellow Taxi:
“Hey Farmer, Farmer, put away your DDT,
I don’t care about spots on my apples,
Leave me the birds and the bees, please…”
The sentiment in the lines she wrote in 1969 have never felt more relevant and neatly sum up the spirit of the event.
