Ten of Our Favourite Natural Wines of 2022

A very hard list to compile, as we drink far too many excellent wines every week (purely in the interests of research, and keeping our customers out in front in the fast-moving natural wine game).

It’s safe to say that this list represents some of the most memorable and exciting bottles of the year, and ones we thought you’d like to know about if you’re not already aware of these growers.

They’re all really worth a try - you won’t regret it.

Grolleau Gris, Grolleau noir, Pineau d'Aunis, Gamay

A blend of some of our most favourite grapes. An elegant, bright red wine, perfect for every occasion.

Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Triomphe

Lovely, juicy freshness.

Blaufränkisch

Stephen considered becoming a meateater again after tasting this. Just for a brief period.

Pineau d’Aunis

Made us want to move to the Loire. This would have to take the crown for the bottle that really wowed us this year.

Gruner Veltliner

Reminded us why orange wine is so important. This was brilliant.

A rare wine that made Stephen want to eat food alongside it, rather than just necking the bottle.

Macabeu

Fighting the good fight. Making such excellent wines.

Mondeuse

One of the latest arrivals on our shelves and a real revelation. Lovely.

Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris

Is there a better English sparkler?

All of these producers will feature in our newly-launched Organic Drinks Subscription Boxes over the next 12 months. You can sign up for you or a friend here, from £50/month to try natural wines, ciders and (of course) organic beers, from some of our favourite growers and producers. A lovely way to support these small businesses and discover some great new bottles.
