Our New Home

By Lucy Hine

Well, it’s been nearly two years and, to be honest, on some days, it has felt like we’ve been getting nowhere fast!

Early site inspection. That bit upstairs becomes our office and where we’re standing is the bar and record shop.

On other days, when we’re feeling more characteristically positive or when we’ve been looking at some of these photographs, we think about how far we’ve come and feel a small sense of achievement that we’ve managed to turn this space around and make it our home.

We are in a beautiful old stable block which backs on to the main (former) cowshed at Bowhouse. Vernacular stone walls, exposed roof beams, high ceilings. All the makings of something amazing.

The vessels arrive and have to be promptly removed to dig drainage and finish the floor.

There is still a lot to do but we thought it would be good to share a few photos of our progress so far. We’ll keep you updated now there’s somewhere to write.
